Take Charge of your Career

I just got my title from Jobstreet's homepage and I believe that being in charge of your career means that having the confidence to know what you want to do forever and do that by all means. Of course, that thing that you want to do shouldn't be something that could harm other people or the environment.

This is one of the article i got from Jobstreet site which is worth reading

Take charge of your career

In today's working environment, do you know who is the one person who is qualified enough to make important decisions about your career? It is not your colleagues or supervisors or senior management. It is none of them. The answer, in fact, is: you. You are responsible for your career. It is all up to you to formulate conceive your objectives, develop a plan and follow through with them successfully to realise your career goals.

Think of your career as your own personal company. You are your own boss and as the boss, you will have to make the big decisions yourself. Along the way, you will be tapping on the expertise of people who have the additional knowledge and experience but basically, the ultimate decision is yours alone as your chart your course towards achieving your career goals.

"Moving forward by looking backwards"

The pastor's message yesterday was about "moving forward by looking backwards". I thought how are you gonna move forward if you still have to look back from your past, or from where you've been. So i continued listening, instead of texting in the church.

I actually forgot the text verse but the pastor shared the book of Joshua about the time where Moses died and God appointed Joshua to lead the Israelites. Joshua probably felt anxious to receive such responsibility. But God has his promise to Joshua.

The pastor outlined his message in 3 points.
1. Remember God's faithfulness
2. Recall God's mission on you - ask yourself, " What is your mission in life and how can i fulfill it?"
3. Rely on God's promises.

Are you in God's land of promise or in the land of Yourself??? Any thoughts???

Last Christmas...

Well, last year...Metanoia are supposed to have a party but unfortunately...the old members wasn't able to see each other. Hahahaa...the members got lost? Not really, there was just misunderstanding with the scheduled time. So the two organizers managed to celebrate the party by themselves with spaghetti and smoked ham....and of course afterwards, Starbucks coffee.
